It is officially Summer in meteorological terms, although astronomically speaking you will have to wait until the 21st of June. The Cotswold countryside is looking lush and my garden is bursting with life, in fact it is escaping out into the lane at the moment...

April and May are beautiful months in Painswick and I think the landscape is at it's very best. Here are some photo's taken by me in the last couple of weeks and within a mile's walk of the Studio.

Painswick is half-way along the Cotswold Way which is part of the British National Trail. This wonderful walk runs along the Cotswold escarpment for roughly 102 miles from Bath to Chipping Campden.

Walkers can rest and relax in the Studio, boots and laundry can be done and packed lunches provided - what are you waiting for?!

AND a great note from some happy vegan guests.

Here are some photos of the Quaker Meeting House which is a few hundred yards from the Studio further down Vicarage Street.

The Meeting House dates from 1706, fifty years after the Quakers came to Painswick.

Quaker worship is based on silence. This is reflected in the simplicity of the building. It has a wonderful serene feel with beautiful views across the valley and it is still in regular use.

Spend a creative Saturday with lunch at Frogmarsh Mill screen-printing your own artwork.

I printed these domestic goddesses on some tea-towels for the Studio!
